frYes, the real world is as you said. While with internet you facilitate 1000x to get those "lunatics" together. So you are not going to be no more the lonely weird person that changes his mind thanks to face to face societal feedback. Here you create an echo chamber that increase your convictions and will surely create real implications. I'm pro free speech but we need at least to acknowledge that anonymous/pseudonymous free speech makes good things better and bad things worse

People who really understand what are the pros and cons of free speech and why is needed, are very very few. Even if it is kind a fact, it need a really open mind to understand the implications. So hard.

Thinking about a particular way of managing zaps that I feel like it would personally boost the amount of zaps I sent. Premise: We are still too used to Like post and not all clients allow for a fast zap system or you can't even zap at all (see Damus). What about collecting daily all the Likes (or impressions) given to the posts and decide whether to share a choosen amount between them at any given time? Example: during the day I sent 15 likes, at the end of the day, or randomly, I can access my wallet, connect to Nostr and retrieve those impressions and share amongst them a choosen amount of Sats. Thoughts?

I just say that only time will tell. Won't change my position but thank you for the discussion, I surely understand it better now, you know your things!

1 BTC = 1 BTC as one piece of art equals another identical fake twin. Their history could be different but if the result is the same, blaming differencies can fall into a delusional spiral. The measurement analogy would break down also when tecnology and innovation take place and you can fit more inside your unit. It is not a fixed unit that is correct. As much time is not a fixed unit when you travel in space. It is just something anchored to our perception that create a sense of objective reality. You cannot have a fixed unit, you need to decide in this case whether it is inflationary or deflationary. Inflation is to take away value from other existing unit and it is fixed inside the protocol of Monero. While deflation in bitcoin is just a consequence of human error. I choose possible deflation against programmed inflation. I do not undermine Monero technology, I look up for it. It is just not needed another coin to do the work.

"Value is subjective" that's correct, I'm not deciding for others, mine is just an opinion. Here we are talking about a monetary unit of measurement, it is more an objective thing. It is like saying that measuring something with arms length is better then using a fixed unit like a meter. You can prefer your arm way but in the long run we already know what is going to be the more effective tool. Value is subjective but remember the frog in the pond story. Give value to the wrong things and you won't survive.

Got your point also reading the other comments you made, at first it looked like a s***tcoiner take. My fault! If we could bring here more Monero dev it could really help. I'll watch some more videos about Drivechains, but, until I get a solid studied opinion, I still give much respect to Saylor point. He knows what he talks about and he have more skin in the game then anyone else. I just don't get the people that are against him.

Heard about it, never looked into it. I've seen mixed reactions. I'll check what I can understand. I'm just not pro altcoins because they have no value outside their unit of mesurement for energy/time/utility/scarcity. There is no sense to have different unit for the same concept. Just as having both metric and imperial unit have no utility. We just need ONE monetary unit with the best attributes, and we know there is just one.

Any takes into the GPU sharing economy? I'm looking into it. Money and simulations, Asics and GPUs. Does it make sense for the individual to have both, it make it extremely decentralized but is it efficient? PS: want to upgrade my 2060 to a 4070, does it make sense if the target is use it for something like Gputopia?

Yeah I would say poor argument too. The purpose of proof-of-work is to create a fair market for the partecipants. Technology will never discriminate the "good" and the "bad" guy. Spam is spam when the cost to share is zero, if it is not zero, it's just advertising. If it's good advertising it will last because of profitability, if it is not it will go because it is too costly to maintain.

50/50 is a big chunck, morally speaking I would go with a 10%. Give a lesson for the error but also show integrity. The protocol do not forgive, people do

Some kind of personalized filter that can give scores to profiles, transparent and open source. That can be activated or switched. There we will see the real difference between Nostr and any other kind of Social app I think
